Busines Broadband requires an analogue line to be in place for service conversion purposes and it is from either this line, or your post code, that it is possible to establish just how fast a connection you can have. Your access speed to the Internet is determined by your locations distance from the local exchange.

The closer you are to a Broadband enabled exchange, the faster a connection you can have. SDSL is the synchronous version of ADSL Broadband, which in the simplest of terms means that you get the same upload and download speed, where as with normal DSL Broadband, all of the strength is purely in the download.


As SDSL is delivered on new copper, you do not need to have a analogue line present to convert it. SDSL is currently not available from every local exchange at the present time but should you be based in a suitable area, it presents a more cost effective solution than using a leased line presentation, as well as being of lower contention than normal DSL.









For those businesses that are not able to take advantage of either ADSL or SDSL, as perhaps their local exchange is either too far away or not compatible, or the business may in fact, require a Internet connection with a higher service level due to it carrying data traffic of high importance, there is a leased line solution.

A leased line will provide you with a connection to the Internet that has a 99.9% SLA and is not shared with any other party as is typical of Broadband. This style of circuit is more costly than both DSL and SDSL but provides greater resillience and performance. Red IP Solutions is able to advise on all network security options surrounding connectivity of this nature.
